Metacognitus (“we”, “us”) provides a website and related demo request process for private archive intelligence software aimed at broadcasters, newsrooms, archive teams and related organisations. This notice explains what information we collect through the website and how we use it.
Information we collect
When you submit a demo request, we collect:
- Name, work email, organisation, role and organisation type
- Approximate archive size
- A description of a difficult archive search
- Optional details about your current MAM/archive system and newsroom languages
- Technical metadata such as submission time and the page used to submit the form
We may also collect limited usage analytics on the website (for example page views and whether a form was started or submitted) through Firebase Analytics.
How we use information
We use demo request information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and arrange a demo or Archive Discovery Benchmark discussion
- Understand the archive problems organisations describe to us
- Improve the website and our early sales process
We do not sell personal information.
Legal basis / consent
By submitting the demo form, you consent to being contacted about your request. You may withdraw that consent by emailing sales@metacognitus.com.
Retention
We retain demo request records for as long as needed to manage the sales conversation and our legitimate business records, then delete or anonymise them when they are no longer required.
Sharing
We use Firebase (Google) to host the website, store form submissions and collect analytics. Apart from service providers acting on our instructions, we do not share demo request data with third parties for their own marketing.
Archive material during a pilot
If you later participate in an Archive Discovery Benchmark or pilot, any handling of your archive media, metadata and access controls will be agreed with you in writing before material is connected. Website form submissions do not themselves grant access to your archive.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information submitted through the website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your choices
To ask about access, correction or deletion of demo request information, email sales@metacognitus.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product and website develop. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
